At RedLine Performance Solutions, we are dedicated to delivering unmatched mission support to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Department of Defense (DoD), and major universities for over 25 years. Our commitment to excellence, cutting-edge technology, and training ensures that these vital agencies can operate at peak performance, even in the most demanding mission environments.
Unlocking the Secrets of the Skies
Unlocking the Secrets of the Skies:
When it comes to NOAA and the National Weather Service, RedLine provides the tools and expertise necessary to evolve numerical weather prediction and help safeguard our communities.
Our HPC System Administrators provide critical 24×7 system administration for the operational supercomputers running the numerical weather prediction models to provide forecast guidance for all types of weather, from hot days to freezing nights, from rainstorms to storm surge, including hurricanes and tornadoes. NOAA’s operational HPC systems must be healthy and available in order to provide model guidance on-time.
Our Senior Production Analysts install, upgrade and maintain the 24×7 production numerical weather prediction suite of models that provide forecast guidance.
Our Data Flow analysts manage the data into and out of the operational supercomputers on a 24×7 basis to keep the production model suite running and their products distributed.
Our Integrated Dissemination Program (IDP) team refactors and updates critical data dissemination programs that issue watches, warnings and alerts.
Pushing Boundaries Beyond Earth
Pushing Boundaries Beyond Earth:
For NASA, RedLine is a trusted partner in its mission to explore the cosmos. Our high-performance computing solutions support the development of space technologies, unraveling the mysteries of the universe, and propelling human space exploration further than ever before.
Our HPC systems administrators provide critical support for NASA’s supercomputer infrastructure at extreme scales (18,000+ compute nodes). These HPC systems are often supporting 7-8 different processor types and several generations of InfiniBand networking which must all interoperate seamlessly. They also run a variety of large-scale scientific codes, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD), weather prediction models, and extrasolar planet discovery applications. These research areas are directly connected to high-profile NASA missions including launches, flights, and space exploration. NASA’s HPC systems must be healthy and available in order to provide mission-critical results in a timely manner.
Our HPC Analysts assist the user base with efficient HPC resource utilization, software builds, system issues, code development and optimization, and visualization.
Our team tests and benchmarks cutting-edge vendor-provided test-beds that showcase new and emerging HPC technologies.
Securing the Nation’s Defense
Securing the Nation’s Defense:
The DoD relies on RedLine for robust computational capabilities that strengthen national security. Our technologies assist in data analysis and modeling so our nation remains safe in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
RedLine works with HPC vendor partners to support installations, upgrades, and expansions of multiple HPC clusters with varying technologies within the DoD realm since 2011.
Our HPC System Engineers configured a re-purposed supercomputer for the DoD. The supercomputer was a subset of the originally deployed cluster, so RedLine re-designed and implemented it as a new complete system. This task required senior-level HPC expertise that the DoD did not have available. Additionally we configured storage and consulted on compilers and job schedulers.
Our team conducted a comprehensive trade study for the DoD to standardize on a single HPC workflow manager. RedLine also provided proof of concept testing in the customer environment to help select the best workflow manager to meet the specified requirements.
Educating the Next Generation
Educating the Next Generation:
Through universities and public outreach, RedLine trains the current and next generation of HPC specialists from system administrators to scientists. RedLine provides commonly needed system-level HPC expertise to universities to help support their continuing research.
RedLine participates in Hack-a-thons and Cluster competitions in conjunction with other institutions and industry leaders (e.g., other HPC sites, NVIDIA)
Our system administrators modernize tasks (e.g., modern model using Ansible and git/ops) for educational institutions’ supercomputers to save administration time, track changes, and enable larger team efforts for projects.
We help universities’ clusters maintain pace with current technology and expand to meet growing demands. Annual server refresh and new hardware integration requires accurate deployment of new devices with exact firmware and software versioning. We standardize integration of new server types into existing network, storage, and administration of existing clusters.
