Cloud Computing
Migrating applications to a private or secure public cloud is an increasingly popular choice among businesses seeking to provision resources more efficiently. A partnership with RedLine gives you access to our expertise with a wide array of cloud computing technologies and services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, Cleversafe, and OpenStack.
HPC in the Cloud
- Extensive experience configuring various cloud-based resources (AWS, GCP, Azure) to support NOAA weather applications and workflows.
- Led the effort to containerize the Unified Forecast System Short Range Weather Application (UFS-SRW) to be used on generic HPC and cloud platforms, reducing dependencies required for operation to only Singularity, MPI, Rocoto (workflow manager), and Slurm.
- Ported the global workflow to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. The global workflow provides the software superstructure to run and cycle the Global Forecast System (GFS). Developing the GFS or the global workflow traditionally requires access to NOAA supercomputers capable of handling massive workloads. Additionally, RedLine tested the global workflow on the Google Cloud Platform to better support a NOAA initiative to use AI.
IT Enterprise Infrastructure in the Cloud
- RedLine staff has architected enterprise-level web services in the AWS cloud for NOAA sites. The integration with the cloud allowed RedLine to propose hosting a customer interface on AWS web architecture to make use of the API gateways with Lambda functions. This allows interaction with a private NOAA cloud to implement data manipulation and ensure critical messages are distributed where they need to be.
- RedLine has proven expertise in architecting, configuring, and testing AWS cloud-native services to create an unparalleled data environment using cutting-edge AWS services. Our seamless data transfer capabilities efficiently migrate data from diverse sources into secure AWS cloud S3 buckets. Additionally, we enhance your AWS operations by automating infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring a hassle-free experience. RedLine also boosts cost-efficiency by identifying areas for significant monthly savings through optimizing your data storage.
